What to Expect at a Women’s Day Retreat

A full day sounds like a lot until you work out how long it has been since you had one.

A small group of women gathered in a warm studio at the close of a retreat day

The shape of the day

The Radiance Day Retreat runs a full day for a group of up to twelve women. Pilates and yoga to move, meditation and sound healing to settle, a shared nourishing lunch in the middle, a botanical oil blending workshop, and a closing ritual circle.

The order is intentional. Move first, because a body that has moved sits still more easily. Rest in the middle. Make something with your hands late in the day, when your head has finally gone quiet.

Who comes to these

Women who booked alone and did not tell anyone. Pairs of friends. Occasionally a mother and daughter. Coming on your own is completely normal here and you will not be the only one.

What you do not need

You do not need to be fit, flexible, experienced at meditation or knowledgeable about oils. Every part of the day is guided and every part can be adjusted to what your body feels like doing.

The part people do not expect

The closing circle. People arrive slightly wary of it and it is often what they talk about afterwards. Spending a day beside the same small group and then hearing what it was like for them tends to land harder than the schedule suggests.

Practical things

The day retreat starts from $320 and includes lunch and the oil blending workshop. Groups are capped at twelve.

Bring clothes you can move in and something warm for the still parts of the day. Everything else is provided. If you have an injury, a dietary requirement or something you would rather not do, say so when you enquire and the day gets adjusted around it.
